Welcome to Modo Inn

Modo Inn stands as a modest yet evolving lodging option nestled in Houston, Texas, at 1040 Freeport Street. With a current rating of 2.8, this no-frills, adults-only hotel serves travelers looking for basic comfort at an accessible price point. Under new management, Modo Inn has undergone a notable transformation, emphasizing safety and security—a significant uplift highlighted by guests.

Visitors frequently note the gated entry, secured by a code, and the presence of security cameras that contribute to a safer environment. The managerial team, led by Nancy, actively maintains order by keeping undesirable elements out, which resonates positively with the guests' sense of security. This change addresses past concerns and reflects a commitment to quality improvement.

The rooms, modest but practical, include essentials like a sink and hot plate—allowing a degree of self-sufficiency for guests. Ongoing renovations are refreshing the space, although some minor inconveniences remain, such as intermittent cold water and a bug issue that is gradually resolving. Despite these minor setbacks, many find the environment considerably more pleasant and peaceful than before.

Modo Inn caters well to visitors traveling off Interstate 10, providing convenient access to local historical sites like the San Jacinto Museum of History and the Battleship Texas State Historic Site, both within a comfortable driving distance. Though the hotel does not offer extras such as a pool, restaurant, airport shuttle, or fitness center, amenities like free Wi-Fi, free parking, air conditioning, and a pet-friendly policy help preserve essential traveler comforts.

Ultimately, Modo Inn positions itself as a practical choice for budget-conscious guests who prioritize safety and functionality over luxury. The ongoing enhancements under new management suggest a trajectory toward improved guest experiences. For those seeking straightforward accommodations with a secure atmosphere in Houston, Modo Inn provides a dependable resting point—simple, unpretentious, yet steadily becoming better.

Its been exterminated. New management. New place completely. I feel pretty safe here as well as our belongings and toolbox in the bed of our truck. The manager Nancy is excellent at regulating unwanted riff raff out. The location has a gate code. And cameras. Our room is nice wt sink and hot plate. For the price and location you can't beat it

I'll be really Real about this place, has new management and they are NEW MANAGEMENT, all occupants are paying by-weekly ,we have gated entry after hours . The rooms are all being remodeled, still have a bit of a bug issue but it is getting better. You have about 15-25 seconds of cold water during the day and part of the night.... But the environment of people is a very BiG difference in a good way.

Staying there until the end of the month. So far fairly quiet, have noted two different bicycle not chained and not stolen, so at least a half decent area. Room is decent, service is very good. It's just two stars, don't expect room service and coffee, bring your own.
